Do you know Turtle? What do you think of turtle? Turtle is a large marine reptile with a bony or leathery shell and flippers, coming ashore annually on sandy beaches to lay eggs. Physically, turtle walks very slow.

 Few days ago, someone called us, Turtle.

There was a story behind it. I work at manufacturing company. My job is handling material costing for some project from customer. Two month ago, we got a rubbish project from Sweden. Why is it called rubbish? Because it feels no value, no big forecast but they chase us like a hell.

New project usually can be settled in one month. Because it follows procedure with clearly BOM provided by customer. But this rubbish project is without clearly BOM. BOM is billing of material, the list of material that needed to build a PCBA. BOM determine the quality of PCBA. We are very dizzy while Sweden site is only chasing with minimum helps. Everything throw away to Batam site, without understanding and following the procedure.

Finally, the project manager shouted and called us works as turtle. Actually my team doesn’t accept with the called. But we only can laugh.

Suddenly we remember kungfu panda film. I believe, everyone has seen this film. The turtle called Oogway. He is a grand master shifu. The highest position in the Kungfu grade in those film. Master Oogway is very wise and very old. There is some message from Oogway that can be taken as a lesson in our life.

In the session of  Kungfu Panda 1 when Oogway called Shifu. He said that He heard a prognosis if someday Tai Lung (a fear and fiendish swordsman) will run away from prison. But master shifu didn’t believe it. Because prison has been guarded strictly. it would be not easy to run away from this guarding. Let’s we learn from Oogway said about this:

Shifu said, “It is impossible. He is in prison.”

Oogway said, “Nothing is impossible.”

The sentences that said by Oogway clearly tell us that there is nothing impossible in this world. Everything can be happening.

Shifu really worried about it. And then Oogway said,” Your mind is like water, my friend. When it is agitated, it becomes difficult to see. But if you allow it to settle, the answer become clear.”

Again, we can get a lesson from Oogway. The lesson is when we are facing a problem, we need to solve it with clear mind and calmly.

Finally, it doesn’t matter if the project manager called us as turtle. But we want to be a turtle like Oogway. A wise man who know the best way to solve the problem.

So those Project Manager absolutely wrong if said that we are like a turtle. He should get other name instead of turtle. (end)
